Story
Captain Oleg Dolin awakens after spending two decades in a coma, returning to a country, a family and a police force that have changed beyond recognition. The methods and dangers of his former life belong to the past, while modern investigations rely on technology and information that feel unfamiliar to a man shaped by the 1990s. As Oleg tries to find his place in the present, he must reconnect with law enforcement, face the distance that has grown within his family and discover whether his old sense of duty still has a place in a transformed world.
This episode continues the crime comedy's story of adaptation, combining police situations with the personal complications of a man forced to begin his life again.
Overview
Cop from the past is a Ukrainian crime comedy series directed by Oleg Borschevsky. Its central premise brings together two contrasting eras: the direct, instinctive world of a police captain from the 1990s and a present shaped by gadgets, digital communication and new approaches to the fight against crime. The result is a character-driven story with room for investigation, family tension and humor drawn from Oleg's struggle to understand the society he has returned to.
The series balances procedural elements with a warm, sometimes uneasy look at homecoming. Oleg's daughter has grown up in his absence, members of his former squad have moved on, and his return raises difficult questions about loyalty, responsibility and the life he might still build.
Cast and Characters
Dmitry Surzhykov leads the cast as Captain Oleg Dolin, the police officer whose return from a twenty-year coma sets the story in motion. Olga Grishina, Sergey Derevyanko, Daryna Trehubova and Mykhailo Kryshtal appear alongside him, bringing the surrounding family, police and personal relationships into the series. The ensemble supports the contrast between Oleg's past and the unfamiliar present he must learn to navigate.
