Story
This episode returns to the unusual second chance granted to police captain Oleg Dolin. After twenty years in a coma, Oleg wakes to a country, a police force, and a family that have moved far beyond the world he knew. The rough methods and fast instincts shaped by his service in the 1990s now collide with a more restrained, technology-driven approach to law enforcement.
Oleg must find his place inside a changed department while trying to understand the life that continued without him. His daughter has grown up, members of his former squad have built families of their own, and the personal relationships he once took for granted have become difficult to recover. Crime, comedy, and the tension between two very different eras shape his return to police work.
Overview
Cop from the Past is a Ukrainian crime comedy directed by Oleg Borschevsky. The story combines an investigation-driven setting with the complications of an ordinary man forced to adapt to an unfamiliar present. Oleg's experience gives him determination and practical courage, while modern devices, new professional habits, and altered social rules constantly test his judgment.
This is the seventh episode of the show's third season, part of a series built around the contrast between the policing culture of the 1990s and contemporary life. Alongside the criminal cases, the narrative follows Oleg's attempt to rebuild his career and reconnect with the people closest to him. Its tone balances workplace friction, family uncertainty, and comic situations created by a man learning how much the world can change during a single lifetime.
