We strive not only to broadcast content, but also to create it. That is why we invest in Ukrainian-language cinema and in Ukrainian filmmaking itself. We want Ukraine to have its own world-class films. The goal is to build Hollywood in Ukraine and, as a first step, create the conditions for its growth so that people everywhere watch and know Ukrainian movies.
It all started with the “Hollywood in Ukrainian” project. We identified a problem: iconic films released before 2006 often had no Ukrainian dubbing. To correct that historical injustice, we took the initiative and began creating exclusive Ukrainian dubbing and voice-over for cult films and trailers from Disney, Paramount, Universal, Sony, and others.

We decided to go further and develop our own cinema — Ukrainian cinema. It is still in the stage of formation: some things are already working, while other things still need effort. But we are sure success is possible only if talented people are supported: actors, directors, cinematographers, costume designers, and many others. They need to know that if they have a truly strong idea, we will help and give them a chance to bring it to life.
We created our own Ukrainian cinema and television development fund called FRUKT. Ten hryvnias from every new SWEET.TV subscription go to this fund. The money is directed toward financing new film projects by Ukrainian directors. By subscribing to SWEET.TV, our viewers support Ukrainian creators and help make their ideas real. You watch a movie in the evening, and someone’s dream gets closer to reality.
We believe that shared effort matters much more than a one-time act of support, because it gives people a feeling of involvement. Imagine that with your help a young director shoots a film that later wins an international festival. Or a film made with your support reaches cinemas. Would you go and watch it? Would you feel proud to tell your friends about it? We think you would.
We do not limit ourselves to one genre. We understand that different genres are equally important for building national identity, so we focus on three strategic directions.
Debating historical cinemaThese films raise difficult questions, offer alternative perspectives, and draw attention to topics society cannot ignore. They help strengthen national self-identification and pride, especially in moments when Ukrainians feel an even stronger need to understand themselves as an independent and resilient people.
Films for a wide audienceThese may be hit comedies, action films, social dramas, or family stories for children. They should be high-quality, engaging, and speak modern Ukrainian. Their role is to help viewers choose Ukrainian cinema not out of sympathy, but because it truly deserves that choice.
Auteur cinemaThis is a laboratory for young creative teams and the strongest film-school students who will soon shape the future of Ukrainian cinema. Here they can create without artistic limits, experiment with new forms, and learn to turn ideas into sustainable projects with a clear strategy and business perspective.
