Story
Police captain Oleg Dolin returns to a world that has moved on without him. After spending two decades in a coma, he must find his place in a police force transformed by new technology, changing methods and unfamiliar rules. The instincts that shaped his work in the 1990s remain sharp, yet the environment around him demands patience, flexibility and a different understanding of justice.
As Oleg attempts to resume his service, his personal life proves just as difficult to recover. His daughter has grown up, members of his former squad have built new lives, and the family he remembers belongs to the past. The episode follows his continuing effort to reconnect with those closest to him while confronting the demands of law enforcement in a very different era. Crime and comedy meet in a story about adaptation, loyalty and the uneasy distance between memory and the present.
Overview
Cop from the Past is a Ukrainian crime comedy series directed by Oleg Borschevsky. Its central premise places a police captain from the 1990s in contemporary society, where digital devices, rapid access to information and modern investigative practices have reshaped everyday life and police work. The contrast creates room for humor while keeping the story grounded in questions of responsibility, family and professional identity.
This installment belongs to the third season of the series. The series balances procedural elements with a personal drama about a man trying to rebuild relationships that continued without him. Oleg's return to the force brings together old habits, new realities and the pressure of proving that experience still has value when the rules of the profession have changed.
Cast and Characters
Dmitry Surzhykov leads the cast as police captain Oleg Dolin, a determined officer facing the practical and emotional consequences of returning after twenty years away. Olga Grishina, Sergey Derevyanko, Daryna Trehubova and Mykhailo Kryshtal round out the ensemble, portraying people connected to Oleg's renewed professional and family life.
The cast supports the series' blend of police investigation, domestic tension and character-based comedy, giving its returning hero a circle of colleagues and relatives through which the contrast between his past and the present becomes clear.
