Story
In the second episode, Lars Haaland and Alfhildr take their investigation into Oslo’s new, multi-temporal underground world. As the case leads them away from the familiar surface of the city, the story widens the mystery surrounding the beforeigners while keeping its focus on the partnership between a burned-out police officer and a woman from the Viking Age.
Overview
Beforeigners combines science fiction, drama, and fantasy in a contemporary Norwegian setting transformed by a mysterious phenomenon. Powerful flashes of light have appeared in the ocean, followed by the sudden arrival of people from the Stone Age, the Viking era, and the late nineteenth century. Their presence has created a multi-temporal society, where ancient customs and modern institutions exist side by side.
Directed by Jens Lien, the series approaches its speculative premise through a grounded investigation and a close look at how Oslo adapts to an extraordinary disruption. This episode takes that story into the city’s hidden underground world, a setting that deepens the sense of a society shaped by different eras.
