Story
Captain Oleg Dolin returns to a world that has moved on without him. After spending two decades in a coma, the police officer from the 1990s must find his place in a changed society, reconnect with a grown daughter, and face the personal losses that accumulated during his absence. The episode follows the uneasy beginning of his new life, where professional instincts from another era meet modern technology, unfamiliar routines, and a police service transformed by time.
Oleg's return brings both comic confusion and serious complications. He is determined to resume the work that once defined him, yet every step toward law enforcement also forces him to confront the distance separating his past from the present. Family tensions, shifting loyalties, and the challenge of adapting to contemporary methods give this crime comedy its human focus.
Overview
Cop from the Past is a Ukrainian crime comedy directed by Oleg Borschevsky. This is episode 15 of season 2. Its premise combines a police investigation setting with the culture shock of a man awakening after twenty years away from everyday life. Gadgets, new habits, and altered professional standards surround Oleg as he tries to recover the confidence and purpose he once had.
The story balances investigation and family drama, allowing the contrasts between the 1990s and the present day to shape both the humor and the tension. Oleg's return to service becomes a test of resilience: he must learn how modern police work operates while deciding what can still be preserved from the life he remembers.
