Story
This episode belongs to the continuing story of police captain Oleg Dolin, whose life takes an extraordinary turn after he emerges from a coma that lasted twenty years. The world around him has changed beyond recognition: policing has entered the digital age, familiar colleagues have built new lives, and the daughter he once knew has grown up. Returning to law enforcement, Oleg must find his place in a society shaped by gadgets, faster communication, and unfamiliar rules while trying to reconnect with the people closest to him.
The episode combines crime investigation with comedy and follows the tension between Oleg's old-school instincts and the realities of modern police work. His difficult adjustment gives the story a human dimension, as professional duty competes with unresolved questions about family, love, and the life he lost.
Overview
Cop from the past is a Ukrainian crime comedy series directed by Oleg Borschevsky. Its central premise brings a police captain from the 1990s into a radically transformed present, creating room for both investigative conflict and culture-clash humor. Oleg relies on experience and determination while learning to navigate technology, changed institutions, and relationships that continued without him.
The series balances police drama with personal uncertainty. Its atmosphere shifts between cases connected to law enforcement and the awkward, sometimes painful process of rebuilding an ordinary life after two decades away. This episode, the seventh installment of the second season, continues that blend, keeping the focus on Oleg's return to service and his attempt to understand the world that now surrounds him.
