Story
Four strangers gather at the funeral of a woman they all once dated. She was a soldier who died on the front line, and each of them received an invitation from her to attend. At her favorite bar, their memories of her gradually turn into personal stories, revealing how differently the same relationship can be remembered.
The meeting brings grief, unfinished questions, and uneasy self-reflection into one room. Episode 7 of the first season, which runs about 22 minutes, belongs to this intimate setting, where conversations move between shared memories and private truths.
Overview
Burying the Ex is a Ukrainian drama series directed by Serhii Kulybyshev. It builds its story around mourning, memory, and the complicated ties that remain after a relationship has ended. A funeral becomes the starting point for a closer look at the people left behind, their versions of the past, and the emotional weight of the woman they all knew.
The bar setting gives the series a contained, conversational atmosphere, while the characters' different connections leave room for conflict and revelation. The series is presented in Ultra HD and centers on themes of bereavement, wartime loss, and unresolved feelings.
Cast and Characters
The cast features Oleksandr Rudynskyi, Vyacheslav Dovzhenko, Anastasia Korol, Slava Babenkov, and Arthur Logai. Together they portray the people gathered around the memory of the deceased soldier, though individual character assignments are not specified in the available materials.
The ensemble format places the emotional focus on the group: strangers linked by the same woman, each carrying a distinct history with her. Their conversations gradually shift attention from the person they came to mourn toward the lives, choices, and regrets they have brought with them.
