Story

At the funeral of a soldier who died on the front line, four strangers discover an unexpected connection: they all once dated her. She invited each of them to attend, leaving behind a question none of them can easily answer. Later, at her favorite bar, their stories about her slowly shift into stories about themselves, bringing memories, regrets and unfinished feelings to the surface.

Overview

Episode 5 of the first season of the Ukrainian drama series Burying the Ex runs about twenty minutes. The series centers on grief, memory and the complicated ways people stay connected to someone after loss. Its intimate settings, a funeral and a favorite bar, keep the focus on conversation and character, while the mystery of why the woman brought these four people together unfolds through the stories they tell.
