Story

Carrie comes to see that her relationship with New York City is as troubled as her relationships with men. The city has always shaped her routines, friendships, and ideas about love, yet it now prompts a more personal kind of doubt. Charlotte decides she needs to distance herself from her former life as “Mrs. MacDougal” and move toward an identity that belongs to her alone.

Miranda tries to adjust to her new life with her baby, Brady Hobbes, and to find out how motherhood fits into the world she knew before. Samantha, meanwhile, receives phone calls from Richard, who is begging her to take him back. His pleas put her in a difficult position. Across the episode, the four friends deal with changing identities, unsettled relationships, and the question of what kind of future they want.

Overview
