Sex and the City: 2 Season

Series Sex and the City — 2 season, 15 episode

Description:

Story

Carrie Bradshaw dates an author whose bedroom difficulties put an unexpected strain on the romance. As the relationship is tested, she finds herself drawn as much to his seemingly perfect family life as to the man himself, and has to ask what she really wants from a connection.

Miranda, who has always kept her distance from children, starts seeing a divorced father and must deal with the presence of his young son. Charlotte takes in her brother Wesley after his wife leaves him, bringing a complicated family dynamic into her home. Samantha, true to form, has her own very direct idea of what Wesley needs.

Overview

Set against New York's fast-moving social scene, Sex and the City follows four close friends as they balance demanding careers, romantic uncertainty and candid conversations about sex. The series is based on Candace Bushnell's bestselling book and combines comedy, drama and melodrama with an observant look at friendship, dating and the pressures surrounding adult relationships.

This episode comes from the second season, in which Carrie is back on the dating scene while her friends keep providing material for her column. Here the women's different attitudes toward intimacy and family are placed side by side: Carrie weighs a romance that is not as simple as it looks, Miranda faces a situation that tests her usual boundaries, Charlotte is pulled into a family crisis, and Samantha approaches desire with characteristic confidence. Together, their stories form a lively portrait of women making personal choices while staying close to one another.
