Story
A revenge-driven terrorist network places NCIS Special Agent Gibbs at the center of a deadly operation. Ari is assigned to kill him, sending the NCIS team into a determined search for the fugitive before he can carry out his mission. As the investigation develops, the agents uncover signs that the attempted assassination forms part of a much larger plan. The episode builds its tension through pursuit, espionage and the growing danger surrounding the team, keeping the full scope of Ari's intentions concealed until the investigation has moved deep into hostile territory.
With the threat connected directly to Navy and Marine Corps personnel, the case demands more than a routine manhunt. The agents must interpret Ari's movements, identify the forces behind the attack and protect their own before another stage of the operation begins.
Overview
NCIS is an action crime drama about a team of special agents investigating offenses linked to the United States Navy and Marine Corps. Murder cases, espionage, terrorism and military secrets bring the investigators into conflicts that reach beyond ordinary law enforcement. Their work combines forensic inquiry, field operations and intelligence gathering, while professional duty often collides with personal danger.
This is episode 23 of Season 2, carrying the focused pressure of a pursuit thriller. A targeted assassination gives the story a clear central threat, while the wider terrorist scheme expands the case beyond a single suspect. The result is a tense chapter shaped by investigation, tactical urgency and the question of how much the team understands before the enemy moves again.
Cast and Characters
The episode features Mark Harmon and Sean Murray among its principal cast. The central conflict involves Gibbs, the NCIS agent marked for assassination, Ari, the operative sent after him, and the wider team pursuing the threat.
