Series NCIS — 2 season, 2 episode

Story

Mummified human remains are discovered inside an abandoned compound, opening a disturbing case for the NCIS team. The victim, a woman who had been missing for several months, was found wearing a wedding dress. As investigators work to establish her identity and reconstruct the circumstances of her death, details surrounding the burial raise the possibility of a connection to a serial killer. The case combines forensic investigation with a search through the victim's past, keeping the team focused on evidence while the danger of another crime remains close.

Overview

NCIS follows a team of special agents who investigate crimes involving Navy and Marine Corps personnel. Their cases range from murder and espionage to terrorism and stolen military equipment, bringing together the procedures of a crime drama with the pressure of national security investigations. This episode leans into the darker side of the series, using an unidentified victim, an abandoned location, and a potentially repeating pattern of violence to create a tense investigative atmosphere. Action, crime, adventure, and drama shape a story built around evidence, persistence, and the difficult work of uncovering what happened after a person disappears.

Created by Donald P. Bellisario, the series is set within the world of naval law enforcement and follows investigations that can involve personnel at any rank. The team's professional mandate places them in cases where personal motives and military connections may overlap, giving each investigation a wider significance.
