Monterossi - La serie

Series Monterossi - La serie — 1 season, 2 episode

Description:

Story

The mysterious killer connected to Carlo Monterossi's investigation has been found dead, yet the case remains far from closed. The police are searching for Sergio De Magistris, while Carlo follows a separate path toward the truth. His next lead is Marzia, De Magistris's former girlfriend, a frightened young woman whose connection to the dead man places her in serious danger. Speaking with her may reveal what happened, but it also draws Carlo deeper into a case shaped by fear, secrecy and competing searches for the same elusive answers.

As Carlo tries to make sense of the conflicting clues, he must work out whom Marzia can trust and what she may be hiding. The investigation keeps its balance between crime drama and dry, character-driven comedy, with danger emerging through uneasy conversations rather than spectacle.

Overview

Monterossi - La serie follows Carlo Monterossi, a successful television writer whose curiosity and anger pull him into investigations far removed from his professional life. His search for answers brings him into contact with trained killers, desperate witnesses and people carrying complicated histories. In this episode, the focus narrows around Sergio De Magistris's death and the vulnerable woman who may hold the key to understanding it.

Directed by Roan Johnson, the Italian crime comedy draws on the novels of Alessandro Robecchi. Its tone combines suspense with irony, allowing moments of danger to sit alongside Carlo's weary wit and instinct for probing uncomfortable questions. The result is a case built around human uncertainty, shifting loyalties and clues that refuse to offer an easy explanation.

Cast and Characters

Carlo Monterossi leads the investigation, relying on persistence, intuition and a sharp awareness of the contradictions around him. Marzia enters the story under intense pressure, caught between her past with Sergio De Magistris and the threat surrounding his death. Sergio remains at the center of the mystery even after his fate is known, while the police pursue their own line of inquiry.

The cast features Fabrizio Bentivoglio, Diego Ribon, Tommaso Ragno and Carla Signoris. Their ensemble brings together the series' contrasting elements: an inquisitive protagonist, frightened witnesses, official investigators and figures whose motives remain difficult to read.
