Overview

Set in Tree Hill, North Carolina, this drama follows two half brothers whose very different upbringings continue to shape their choices. Lucas Scott comes from a modest background and finds recognition on the river court, while Nathan Scott enjoys status as the celebrated star of his high school basketball team. Their shared father, Dan Scott, remains a source of tension because of his past abandonment of Lucas and Karen.

In the second season, Nathan's marriage to Haley is met with mixed reactions, and Peyton and Brooke try to mend their friendship. In this episode, several storylines run side by side: Lucas works with Andy against Dan, the younger characters weigh questions of trust, identity and secrecy, and the adults make firm decisions about the people around them. Intimate personal conflicts sit alongside the wider rivalries that have long defined the series.

Created by Mark Schwahn, One Tree Hill combines character-driven drama with the pressures of family history, romantic commitment, friendship and high school life.
