Taisia lives in a village lost deep in impenetrable forests, completely cut off from civilization. There are hardly any residents, no mobile connection, and the only road connecting the village to the city is often washed out, making it impassable. Taisia is an orphan. The only person she can turn to for advice is her elderly neighbor, Vasylyna. She has an unwanted admirer — Vadym, a local troublemaker and poacher recently released from prison. Taisia feels absolutely no affection for him. But in such isolation, there's no one to protect her from his advances.

But the city greets her with hostility: Taisia faces deceit, envy, hypocrisy, and lies — yet love helps her overcome every obstacle. Everything turns upside down when Vasylyna, on her deathbed, reveals a secret: under no circumstances can Taisia be with Serhii…
