The Second World War. The Soviet leadership learns that the German concern "Auerge" is developing atomic weapons. Physicist Katerina Stuhr, a Polish woman who has been in a German concentration camp, works at Auerg. She is not yet aware of the full danger of her scientific research, is terrified of the Gestapo and dreams of fleeing to a place where nothing will threaten her.
Her dream can be fulfilled by Vlad Volny, recruited by the Soviet special services and tasked with kidnapping an employee of the Auerge concern and delivering him to Moscow.
