Overview
Supernatural follows Sam and Dean Winchester, brothers who lost their mother to a demonic force when they were boys. Their father raised them as soldiers, teaching them about the paranormal evil hiding in the dark corners and back roads of America and how to fight it. Now the brothers crisscross the country in their '67 Chevy Impala, taking on every supernatural threat they meet.
The series blends detective storytelling with science fiction, fantasy and drama. In the first season, Sam has been building a safer, more ordinary life with law school ahead of him, until Dean arrives with troubling news about their father and pulls him back into the family business. This is the 21st episode of the season, running about 45 minutes. It turns the hunt into a deeply personal confrontation for the whole Winchester family.
Cast and Characters
Jared Padalecki plays Sam Winchester, who has tried to leave hunting behind but is drawn back whenever his family is in danger. Jensen Ackles plays Dean Winchester, a committed hunter who remains closely tied to the life their father taught him and is determined to protect those caught in the conflict. The brothers bring different instincts to the investigation: Sam sees the danger as someone who once tried to escape it, while Dean faces it head-on.
John Winchester, a man who has hunted evil for decades, is the figure at the heart of the conflict, even as his friends become targets. Meg is a ruthless adversary who turns personal connections into leverage and demands the Colt as the price for stopping her campaign.
