Description:

Story

A disturbing vision draws Sam Winchester back to the childhood home he has tried to leave behind. In the dream, a woman appears trapped inside the house, and although Dean is reluctant to revisit their past, Sam persuades him to investigate. When they arrive, the woman from the vision confirms that the property is haunted, turning a private memory into a dangerous case.

Searching through the family's history, the brothers learn that their father once sought help from a psychic after their mother's death. They turn to the same woman, hoping her knowledge will reveal why the house has become a source of such violent activity. Their investigation points toward a malevolent poltergeist, leading Sam and Dean into an exorcism that takes an unexpected turn when another unseen presence interferes.

Overview

This ninth episode of the first season combines an intimate family mystery with a tense haunted-house investigation. Sam's vision brings old grief and unfinished questions to the surface, while Dean approaches the case with guarded reluctance. The search connects the haunting to the family's past and deepens the emotional stakes behind every discovery.

Supernatural, created by Eric Kripke, blends detective storytelling with science fiction, drama and fantasy. The brothers travel through America in their Chevrolet Impala, following reports of paranormal activity and confronting forces that ordinary investigators cannot explain. This episode keeps the focus close to home, using a familiar setting, buried family history and shifting spiritual threats to create a suspenseful chapter in their journey.

  • Jared Padalecki as Sam Winchester, whose troubling vision leads the brothers back to their childhood home and into a case tied to his family.
