Series Black — 1 season, 5 episode

Story

Determined to save a boy, Ha-ram heads back to the city of Mujin on her own. Her decision places the case firmly within the realm of life-and-death choices, where every step carries consequences. As she pursues her goal, Black is reminded of what Ha-ram's success could mean for him and of the price attached to interfering in matters beyond ordinary human control.

The episode keeps its focus on the uneasy connection between Ha-ram's ability to foresee death and Black's role as a grim reaper. Their opposing positions create a tense moral dilemma, while the shadow of dark events from the past continues to shape the present. The boy at the centre of Ha-ram's mission gives the story an immediate emotional urgency and draws both characters deeper into the series' mysteries.

Overview

Black is a South Korean crime, comedy, drama and fantasy series directed by Kim Hong-sun. Its story brings together a grim reaper, a detective and Ha-ram, a woman who can foresee death. Their unusual circumstances lead them into matters of life and death and into unresolved secrets from twenty years earlier.

This episode combines supernatural tension with a personal rescue mission. Ha-ram's solitary return to Mujin gives the narrative a determined, intimate tone, while Black's dilemma adds a darker layer to the investigation. The result is a chapter shaped by difficult choices, hidden consequences and the lingering question of whether a foretold death can truly be prevented.
