Carrie runs into Big, who admits that he misses her and can't stop thinking about her. His confession brings old feelings back into focus, leaving Carrie to consider what his words may mean for both of them. Meanwhile, Miranda grows increasingly annoyed by Steve’s childish habits after he suggests that they have a baby together.

Charlotte becomes swept up in a new romance with Trey. After only a few weeks together, she is convinced that he is the one she has been waiting for. Samantha faces a very different kind of uncertainty when her period is a week late and she begins to suspect that menopause may be responsible. The episode moves between romantic longing, domestic tension and the anxious questions that accompany major changes in a woman’s life.

Overview

Sex and the City blends comedy, drama and melodrama through the lives of four close friends navigating love, sex, work and friendship in New York. Each woman approaches relationships from a different perspective, giving the story room for sharp conversations, emotional complications and contrasting ideas about commitment.

Set against the city’s social world, the series follows Carrie, Miranda, Charlotte and Samantha as they discuss their private lives with unusual candor. This episode from Season 3 brings several of the series’ central concerns into one story: the pull of a former lover, the pressure of expectations within a partnership, the rush of new romance and the fear that comes with an uncertain future.
