Movie Forced vacation (2025)

Story

A booking mistake brings two families with completely opposite temperaments under the same roof for a long-awaited holiday. Their shared destination is a sublime vacation home, yet the atmosphere quickly becomes less relaxing than anyone expected. Everyday habits collide, personal boundaries are tested, and strong personalities leave little room for compromise.

The house also welcomes a somewhat snobbish publisher and the influencer he hopes to publish, adding another layer of tension to an already uneasy arrangement. Cultural differences and misunderstandings turn ordinary moments into comic confrontations. As the guests struggle to live together, the forced holiday begins to reveal unexpected connections and develops into an adventure filled with surprises and laughter.

Overview

Forced vacation is a French comedy directed by Ines de la Beviere. The film builds its humor around an awkward shared retreat, placing contrasting families and ambitious media personalities in close quarters. Its setting offers the promise of rest and beauty, while the characters bring clashing routines, vanity, and barely contained irritation into every room.

The story combines situational comedy with a warm look at people who have little in common on the surface. Rather than relying on a single source of conflict, the film lets tension grow through incompatible habits, misunderstandings, and the pressure of sharing one space. The result is a lively ensemble story about a holiday that refuses to follow anyone's plans.

Cast and Characters

The ensemble features Clovis Cornillac, Aure Atika, Laurent Stocker, and Philippe Vieux. Their characters belong to a crowded mix of holidaymakers whose personalities and expectations repeatedly collide.

At the center of the situation are two very different families, joined by a publisher with refined tastes and the influencer whose career he wants to support. Together, these guests create a shifting network of rivalries, misunderstandings, and comic alliances as they attempt to share the same vacation home.
