Series NCIS — 1 season, 11 episode

Story

When a Navy commander who served as a technical adviser to a civilian contractor working on a Navy weapon is found dead on the beach, the NCIS team takes charge of the investigation. The case draws the agents into a search for connections between the victim’s military experience, his work with the contractor, and the technology surrounding the weapon program.

Satellite imagery becomes a crucial investigative tool as the team examines evidence that may reveal where the commander was before his death and who could have been watching him. The episode combines a procedural murder investigation with the wider security concerns that come with military technology, keeping the focus on evidence, surveillance, and the hidden links within the victim’s professional life.

Directed by Donald P. Bellisario, the series places its investigators in cases where military service, government contractors, and national security overlap. This episode carries that broader investigative style into a focused mystery involving a Navy weapon, a civilian adviser, and the use of satellite technology to reconstruct events.
