Alexei Karaev

Alexey Borisovich Karayev (born 1954) is a Russian animator director. Honored Artist of the Russian Federation (1997). Winner of the State Prize of the RSFSR (1990). In 1976 he graduated from the Sverdlovsk Institute of Architecture (specialty design). In 1976–79 he worked as a designer in the Institute of Technical Aesthetics. In 1979–81 he studied at the Higher Courses of Scriptwriters and Directors at VGIK. Since 1982 - director and animator of the Sverdlovsk film studio. One of the leading masters of the animation association of the Sverdlovsk Film Studio, teacher. Director of one of the best cartoon films of the 80s "Welcome!".
