Operator, director, screenwriter, actor, photographer. Honored Artist of the RSFSR (06/17/1991). In 1961 he graduated from the Faculty of Cameraman VGIK (workshop A. Halperin). Operator and director of the film studio "Lenfilm". Assistant operator on the film "Cholpon - the morning star", the second cameraman on the film "Striped flight", "Boy with skates." The author of the Russian text of the song "Lily Marlene" to the film by Oleg Kovalov "Dark Night". In the movie “Golden Ring, A Bouquet of Red Roses”, he also acted as the scriptwriter, and in the “Echelon” TV series - co-author (with his wife Niyole Adomenaite). In 1987, he played the role of Emperor Paul I in Sergei Solovyov’s “Assa”. Since 1969 - Secretary of the Union of Cinematographers of St. Petersburg. Member of the Russian Academy of Cinematographic Arts "Nika". Member of the National Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences of Russia "Golden Eagle".
