He studied at the Leningrad Theatrical College (1931-1934), at the Leningrad Institute for Advanced Studies (1936-1938). In 1931-1941 - actor of theaters of Leningrad, Tashkent, Borovichi, in 1941-1945 - actor of Leningrad TYuZ, in 1946-1948 - actor of the Gorky Drama Theater, since 1948 - actor of the Leningrad Drama Theater named after A.S. Pushkin (Alexandrinsky Theater). In the cinema since 1947, the first role - Sergey Kostrov in the film “Return to Life”. The art of the actor is distinguished by the highest skill, nobility, intellectualism. Freundlich filmed a lot, creating the most diverse images: Jester Feste “The Twelfth Night”, Roshchin (“Different Fates”), old man (“Expression of Love”), Patrick Gordon (“Young Russia”).
