Valery Ananiev

Valery Ananiev (born July 14, 1993, Pervomaisk, Mykolaiv Oblast) is a Ukrainian soldier, a veteran of the Russian-Ukrainian war, a writer, blogger, and traveler. He served in the Armed Forces for five years, two of them in the combat zone in Donbass. He served in the 25th Airborne Brigade. He is known for his posts on Facebook and videos on Youtube, including the war in eastern Ukraine and I am writing a pilgrimage along the Way of St. James, 1,800 kilometers long. On August 13, 2018, his first art book "Footprints on the Road" was published, part of which takes place in Donbass during the war. The book became a bestseller and one of the most popular books in Ukraine in 2019.
