Оливер Калькафе

Kalkofe was born in Hanover. He grew up in Engelbostel and Payne. In 1984, he graduated as a clerk and translator of foreign languages ​​in English and French, after which he entered the University of Münster with a degree in media and communication. He gained popularity nationally thanks to the Kalkofes Mattscheibe television show on the German Premiere pay-TV network, which he adapted for television in 1994 from the eponymous series Frühstyxradio. The title of the show is a pun based on the fact that the German word Mattscheibe can mean “television screen” as well as “mental dimming”. His biggest commercial success is the films The Cleaner (2004) and The Mad Men of Scotland Yard (2007), a parody of the German film adaptation of Edgar Wallace of the 1960s.
