Mikhail Nikolaevich Ptashuk (Belor. Mikhail Mikalayevich Ptashuk; January 28, 1943, Fedyuki village, Lyakhovichsky district, Brest region - April 26, 2002, Moscow) - Soviet and Belarusian film director. People's Artist of the BSSR (1990). Michael was born on January 28, 1943 in the village of Fedyuki occupied by the German invaders. He graduated in 1967 from the Moscow Theater School named after BV Shchukin (workshop of B. E. Zakhavy). In 1972 he studied at the Higher Directing Courses of the USSR State Committee for Cinematography in the workshop of Georgy Danelia. He died on April 26, 2002 in Moscow in a car accident on the way to awarding the Nika Prize.
