Upon completion of the eight-year plan in 1951, he entered the Moscow Electromechanical College of the Ministry of Shipbuilding Industry, finished it in 1955, and began working as a technician at the All-Union Research Institute of Radio Engineering and Electronics. In October 1955, Yuri was drafted into the ranks of the Soviet Army, where he served until November 1958. Then, after demobilization, he worked as a technician, senior technician and head of the radio engineering laboratory of the Research Institute of Rheumatism of the USSR Academy of Medical Sciences. In 1966 he graduated from the evening department of the Moscow Theater School named after MS. Schepkina. In 1966-1969 - actor of the Academic Theater named after the Moscow City Council. Since 1969 - actor of the Studio Theater actor. Since 1978, Yuri Gusev joined the staff of the Mosfilm Studio and the Studio of the Film Actor Studio, where he worked until the end of his life, which, unfortunately, ended too early. While in Tashkent on the set of the next film, Yuri Evgenievich fell and got a fracture at the base of the skull, as a result of which he died on January 19, 1991, at the 55th year of his life. The actor was buried in Moscow at the 282nd section of the Khovansky (Northern) Cemetery.
