Boris Petrovich Butakov (April 21, 1924 - August 6, 2008) - Soviet animator and animator. He participated in the creation of 97 cartoons, including “The Adventures of Pinocchio”, “Mowgli”, “The Humpbacked Horse”. Boris Petrovich Butakov was born on April 21, 1924. He participated in the Great Patriotic War. In the battles he received a heavy bullet wound to the head. After the war, in 1946, he entered the preparatory courses of the Moscow Architectural Institute. In 1947 he transferred to the multipliers courses at Soyuzmultfilm and the following year he was accepted into the studio staff as an animator. In this position he worked for more than 20 years. From 1970 to 1973 - director at the studio "Multtelefilm" creative association "Screen". In 1974 he returned to Soyuzmultfilm and shot several more cartoons. Boris Petrovich Butakov died on August 6, 2008. He was buried in Moscow at the Pyatnitsky cemetery.
