Vladimir Ilyich Tarasov (born February 7, 1939 Moscow, RSFSR, USSR) - Soviet animated film director, artist. Member of the CPSU since 1965. Honored Artist of the RSFSR (1989). In 1965-1970 studied at the Moscow Polygraphic Institute. At the Soyuzmultfilm studio, he worked since 1957: first in graphic workshops, then as an artist-animator, production designer (in groups of directors V. Bordzilovskiy, M. Botov and V. Degtyarev), then, from 1973 - director. V. Tarasov is one of the few domestic multipliers who constantly developed sci-fi themes in their films: “Contact” (1978; awards at festivals in Italy and France), “Tire” (1979), screen version of the tragic story of Kir Bulychev “Pereval (1988). He is currently working at the Christmas Films Studio. Member of ASIFA.
