Eduard Martsevich

Actor, theater director, teacher. Honored Artist of the RSFSR (4.11.1974). People's Artist of the RSFSR (06/22/1987). He graduated from the Theater School. M.S. Schepkina (1959). Since 1959 - actor of the Academic Theater. Vl. Mayakovsky. Since 1969 - actor of the Academic Maly Theater of the USSR. Even at the beginning of his artistic path, he tried his hand at directing. He dramatized, staged and, together with Z. Andreeva, played in the concert version the play "White Nights" after F. Dostoevsky. Then came the other productions. Finally, the decision came to direct the profession professionally. For this, he broke away from the theater for a year and went to the Lithuanian city of Panevezys to the well-known director Y. Miltinis to study the profession of director. At the end of the director's course, Martsevich confirmed his qualification, putting A. Kazantsev in the Panevezys theater “Old House”, and then, in different years, “Ordinary history” by I.А. Goncharov and Ivanov, A.P. Chekhov. He has released three performances in his native Maly Theater. He put the play "Father" by A. Strindberg, in which he played the main role of Rotmistra. Then comedy A.N. Ostrovsky "There was not a penny, but suddenly Altyn," for which he chose to play the main role of one of the most beloved and respected actors of the modern theater, Evgeny Valerianovich Samoilov. In late 1998, he staged his own performance of the novel by L.N. Tolstoy "Resurrection". In the years 1973-1975 - teacher of the Theater School. M.S. Schepkina.
