Olga Mateshko

Honored Artist of the Ukrainian SSR (1978). She graduated from VGIK (1969, workshop of O.Pyzhova and A.Bibikov), since 1969 - actress of the Kiev Film Studio. A.P.Dovzhenko. She became widely known thanks to the role of Zoya Molchanova, the pilot of the U-2 night bomber, in the famous Leonid Bykov's film "Only Old Men Go To Battle". After the death of her husband, the famous cameraman and film director Alexander Atayevich Itygilov (1944-1990), she left in 1994 in the USA. She taught at St. Sergius Academy in Manhattan, worked as a sound engineer on the Russian TV channel RTVI in New York. After a significant break, she returned to Kiev and starred in a new series of her brother, director and actor Anatoly Mateshko (born 1953) “The Myth about an Ideal Man” (2005). Filmed in the films of the son of Alexander Itygilov Jr. (born in 1974).
