Vladimir Bortko

Film director, screenwriter, actor. Honored Artist of the Russian Federation (01/12/1994). People's Artist of the Russian Federation (07.26.2000). Childhood passed in Kiev. He graduated from the Kiev Geological Prospecting College (1965), IKTU KGITI. Karpenko-Kary (1974). In 1965-1966 he served in the army, worked as an electrician of the Military Project in Kiev (1966-1969), as an assistant director at the AP Studio. Dovzhenko, since 1980 - director of film studio "Lenfilm". In 1993 he staged the play “King Oedipus” on the stage of the Hermitage Theater (St. Petersburg).
