Honored Artist of the RSFSR (05/05/1980). After graduating from high school I was looking for myself. And I tried a bunch of professions: I was a high-voltage assembler, postman. I sailed as a motor mechanic on coasters across the Barents Sea - because I grew up in Murmansk, and what kind of boy in Murmansk does not dream of becoming a sailor ?! Only in 1962 he entered the Leningrad State Institute of Theater, Music and Cinematography (LGITMiK). He was first noticed by director Julian Panich, who in 1965 invited the young actor to the main role in the film "Seeing the White Nights". After graduating from the institute in 1967, he joined the troupe of the Leningrad TYUZ named after Bryantsev, which was led by his teacher in LGITMiK, Firnov Korogodsky.
