Bogdan Stupka
Ukrainian theater and film actor, Shevchenko Prize laureate (1993, for the main role in the play “Tevye-Tevel”, according to Sholom-Aleikhem), People's Artist of the USSR (1980), People's Artist of the USSR (1991), Hero of Ukraine (2011). The actor was born on August 27, 1941 in the village of Kulikov (now Zhovkovsky district of Lviv, which at that time was under Nazi occupation and was part of the Galichin district of the Governor General. His relatives accustomed him to the stage: his father sang in the choir of the Lviv Opera House, his mother's elder brother was a soloist in the same place, and his aunt was the main accompanist. Behind the scenes of the theater, Bogdan Stupka saw and heard many prominent post-war singers, in particular Ivan Kozlovsky and Sergey Lemeshev.
