Movie Scary Movie (2026)

Story

Twenty-six years after surviving an encounter with a suspiciously familiar masked killer, the Core Four find themselves drawn back into danger. The threat has returned with a taste for horror-movie conventions, and this time no familiar franchise formula is safe. As the group faces another round of pursuit, panic, and darkly comic peril, old survival instincts collide with a new wave of genre chaos.

Scary Movie revisits the slasher tradition through a playful comedy that treats recognizable horror patterns as an open invitation for parody. The premise leaves room for chase sequences, ominous disguises, exaggerated suspense, and the irreverent humor associated with the series, while keeping the killer's identity and the group's next move under wraps.

Overview

Directed by Michael J. Moore, this American comedy returns to the world of masked killers and horror-film clichés after a long gap in the story. The film centers on an ensemble forced to confront a threat that feels disturbingly familiar, creating a mix of suspense, satire, and deliberately over-the-top situations.

The appeal lies in the collision between classic slasher tension and comic timing. Familiar genre imagery provides the setting, while the returning group gives the story a continuing thread. Viewers can expect a fast-moving parody shaped by horror references, exaggerated danger, and the uneasy humor of characters who recognize the rules of the nightmare around them.

Cast and Characters

Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans, Anna Faris, Regina Hall, and Damon Wayans Jr. lead the cast. Together, the returning ensemble brings the Core Four back into the center of the story, where their shared history becomes part of the comedy and the suspense. Their characters must navigate a familiar-looking threat while facing the unpredictable logic of a horror world built for parody.

Michael J. Moore directs the film, with the cast combining established performers and returning series talent for a fresh encounter with masked-killer conventions.
