Movie Shadow in the Cloud (2020)

Story

High above the Pacific during the Second World War, a pilot boards a B-17 Flying Fortress carrying top-secret documents. The mission takes a disturbing turn when an evil presence is discovered aboard the aircraft, forcing the crew to confront a threat that has entered their confined world.

With the bomber isolated in the sky and danger closing in, suspicion spreads through the flight. The crew must preserve their fragile sense of trust while trying to determine the nature of the menace and protect both the mission and their own lives. The story combines wartime tension with claustrophobic horror, keeping the action focused on a single perilous journey.

Overview

Shadow in the Cloud blends action, horror, and war drama within the stark setting of a military aircraft. Roseanne Liang directs a tense survival story shaped by secrecy, isolation, and the pressure of an enemy that cannot be easily understood. The New Zealand and American production draws much of its atmosphere from the contrast between the disciplined routine of a combat flight and the fear of an unseen intruder.

The aerial setting gives every exchange added urgency. Limited space, a vital classified cargo, and the crew’s uncertain situation create a steadily tightening conflict, while the supernatural element brings an unsettling edge to the wartime premise.

Cast and Characters

Chloë Grace Moretz leads the cast alongside Nick Robinson, Beulah Koale, Taylor John Smith, and Callan Mulvey. Their ensemble portrays the personnel connected with the dangerous flight, where professional duty, secrecy, and survival become closely intertwined. The cast’s work supports the film’s enclosed, high-pressure atmosphere and its shift between military action and supernatural suspense.

Roseanne Liang’s direction keeps the focus on the airborne mission and the people trapped within it, allowing the relationships among the crew to develop under extreme pressure.
