Story
A 55-year-old wife and mother in Miami, Florida, receives a devastating diagnosis: a black hole is growing inside her chest. With only the final five days of her life repeating around her, she turns toward an impossible solution. Determined to solve time travel, she searches for a way back through her own past and a chance to become the person she always meant to be.
Each cycle offers another opportunity to examine the choices, relationships, and unfinished ambitions that shaped her life. The story follows her effort to take control of time while confronting the limits of what can be changed. Its science-fiction premise creates room for intimate drama, personal reckoning, and carefully judged comedy.
Overview
Directed by Bernardo Britto, Omni Loop blends science fiction, comedy, and drama into a character-focused story about mortality and second chances. The repeating five-day structure gives the film a clear sense of urgency, while the fantastical threat at its center keeps the focus on an ordinary woman facing deeply personal questions.
Set against the Miami background of its protagonist's life, the film considers how a person might use a limited amount of time when every attempt brings her back to the same point. Its tone moves between the strange, the thoughtful, and the emotionally direct, keeping the central mystery connected to the everyday details of family life and identity.
Cast and Characters
Mary-Louise Parker leads the cast as the 55-year-old wife and mother at the heart of the story, a woman whose diagnosis pushes her toward an extraordinary experiment with time. Her character carries the film's central tension: the desire to revisit the past while living with the knowledge that each repeated cycle has a cost.
Ayo Edebiri, Harris Yulin, and Carlos Jacott join Parker in the ensemble. Together, the cast supports a story built around close personal connections, difficult choices, and the shifting perspective created by repeated days. Their performances place the film's speculative premise within a recognizable human world.
