Overview
Nerve combines action, adventure, drama, and thriller elements in a fast-moving story about risk-taking and the hunger for recognition. Its world turns everyday choices into public performances, where an unseen crowd rewards boldness and demands escalation. The film explores the uneasy relationship between entertainment and danger, following a young woman whose attempt to break free from an ordinary routine leads into a contest with consequences that extend far beyond the screen.
Directed by Henry Joost and M. Ariel Schulman, the film maintains a tense, youthful atmosphere as its heroine moves through a series of increasingly perilous tests. The suspense rests on both the next dare and the audience watching it unfold.
