Movie I.T. (2016)

Story

Mike Regan has built a life that appears secure from every angle: a thriving business, a loving wife, a teenage daughter and a sophisticated smart home designed to make daily life effortless. That sense of control begins to fracture when Ed, the IT consultant responsible for the system, turns his technical access toward Mike’s family. What starts as unsettling attention develops into a dangerous campaign of surveillance, intimidation and intrusion.

As private information becomes a weapon and a single click can send secrets beyond anyone’s control, Mike faces a threat that reaches into his home, his work and his closest relationships. With his family at risk, he must draw on connections from his past while trying to understand an enemy who can move unseen through the technology surrounding them.

Overview

Directed by John Moore, I.T. combines drama and thriller elements in a tense story about digital dependence, privacy and the vulnerability hidden inside a connected lifestyle. The film places a prosperous family in an environment built for convenience, then turns that same environment into a source of fear. Smart devices, personal data and online access create a conflict where physical security offers little protection from a determined intruder.

The escalating pressure also tests Mike’s confidence as a businessman, husband and father. Alongside the suspense, the film examines how quickly professional access can become personal control, and how difficult it becomes to reclaim privacy once information has escaped into the wider world. Pierce Brosnan leads a cast that includes James Frecheville, Michael Nyqvist, Anna Friel and Jay Benedict.
