Story
After their parents are killed, two young sisters vanish deep into the woods. Years later, they are found alive and brought into a new home, where the hope of a peaceful life quickly becomes unsettled. The girls carry memories and fears that are difficult for others to understand, while an unseen presence continues to hover around them. Each night brings the suggestion that someone, or something, still considers the sisters its own. As their new family tries to protect them, the boundary between childhood trauma and a supernatural threat grows increasingly uncertain.
Mama builds its horror around isolation, grief and the fragile bond between children and the adults who care for them. Its suspense comes through a gradual sense of intrusion, allowing the mystery surrounding the girls to take shape without revealing its darkest answers.
