Bring Her Back

Movie Bring Her Back (2025)

Description:

Story

After their father's death, a brother and sister enter a new family arrangement under the care of a foster mother. Their first meeting with another child, presented as their new sibling, brings an unsettling presence into an already fragile household. As the children try to adjust to unfamiliar rules and relationships, the foster mother's hidden secret begins to surface. The family's grief becomes entangled with a growing sense of danger, leading into a tightly focused horror story about trust, vulnerability, and the fears that can take root inside a home.

Bring Her Back builds its tension around a seemingly protective environment that gradually reveals a darker side. The contrast between childhood innocence, family loss, and the foster mother's concealed intentions gives the film an atmosphere of unease. The story keeps its central mystery close, allowing dread to develop through the characters' changing understanding of one another.

Overview

Directed by Danny Philippou, this horror film is an Australian-American production. Its premise combines supernatural unease with an intimate family drama, placing a brother and sister at the center of a disturbing new household. Rather than relying on a distant or unfamiliar setting, the film draws tension from domestic spaces and relationships that should offer security. Grief, guardianship, and the promise of a new family create the emotional foundation for a story where appearances become increasingly difficult to trust.

The ensemble includes Billy Barratt, Sally Hawkins, Mischa Heywood, Jonah Wren Phillips, and Stephen Phillips. Their performances shape the film's close-knit group of children and adults, while the shifting balance of trust keeps the horror personal and immediate.
