Story
When an NCIS agent is murdered during an investigation, the team must reconstruct the case and determine what led to the agent's death. Their search takes them through a web of unanswered questions, professional risks, and evidence that may connect the killing to the work the victim was pursuing.
The investigation brings together field expertise, careful analysis, and the pressure of dealing with a crime inside the agency's own ranks. As the team follows each lead, trust becomes as important as procedure, while the truth remains concealed behind the unfinished case.
Overview
NCIS combines action, crime drama, adventure, and investigative suspense. The series follows a team of special agents who handle cases connected to Navy and Marine Corps personnel, from murder and espionage to terrorism and other threats. Its stories move between official duty, personal loyalty, and the practical challenges of solving crimes that can reach every level of the military.
Created by Donald P. Bellisario, the American series places its investigations within a disciplined professional environment while keeping attention on the people carrying them out. This episode narrows that wider premise to an internal tragedy, giving the team a case that is both professionally urgent and personally unsettling.
Cast and Characters
Mark Harmon and Sean Murray lead the cast in the roles of NCIS agents working to uncover the circumstances surrounding their colleague's death. Their characters operate within a team built around investigation, cooperation, and specialized knowledge. The episode's central conflict places the agents under pressure to protect the integrity of the case while confronting the possibility that crucial answers may be hidden close to home.
