Story
When a sailor’s body is discovered on the seafloor, the circumstances immediately raise questions. He is still wearing his dress whites and carries a ceremonial sword, creating a scene that appears carefully arranged. The NCIS team begins reconstructing his final days, following clues that lead into the world of a massively multiplayer online role-playing game.
As the investigation develops, the agents examine the sailor’s attachment to the game and the bitter rivalry he maintained with another serviceman. What first looks like an unusual murder case gradually points toward a personal conflict with consequences beyond the screen. The team must determine how deeply the victim became involved and how far the feud may have pushed those connected to it.
Overview
This episode combines military investigation with a crime mystery rooted in an unexpected setting. The case brings together forensic clues, questions of identity and loyalty, and the tension between virtual competition and real-world consequences. As part of NCIS, the story follows a special team handling crimes linked to the Navy and Marine Corps. The series blends action, crime, adventure, and drama while placing its investigators in cases that can involve murder, espionage, terrorism, or threats to military security. Donald P. Bellisario serves as director.
