Russian Soviet writer and screenwriter, journalist, war correspondent. Winner of the Nobel Prize in literature, the Stalin Prize, the Lenin Prize. Full member of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR. Twice Hero of Socialist Labor (1967, 1980).
