Alexander Andreevich Vokach was born in Moscow on March 21, 1926 in a family of teachers - Andrey Igorevich, a teacher of physics and mechanics at MIIT and Sofia Andreyevna Vokach, a teacher of mathematics at school. In 1943 he graduated from high school and entered the acting department of GITIS. In 1944, Alexander Vokach left as a volunteer for the front, fought, served until 1947 in the air force. In 1951 he graduated from GITIS and by distribution became an actor of the Kurgan Regional Theater. Since 1957 - actor of the Kalinin Drama Theater. Soon he began performing performances (“My poor Marat” by A. N. Arbuzov). In 1968-1971, he was the chief director of the Kalinin Drama Theater. He was the director of the performances of "Whose Life Is This" by D. M. Holendro, "Diplomat" by S. Aleshin, "The Old Man" by Maxim Gorky. The first work in the cinema of Alexander Vokach was the role of the Duke of Cornwall in the film Gregory Kozintsev's "King Lear". After the film was shot, his partner in shooting, Galina Volchek, invited the actor to the Sovremennik Theater. Since 1971 - actor of the Moscow theater "Contemporary". In 1987, the actor suffered a heart attack. Despite the entreaties of his relatives, he did not leave the acting profession. Died October 1, 1989, buried in the Kuntsevo Cemetery.
