Edward Hagagortyan

Armenian Soviet composer. Honored Artist of the RSFSR (2.07.1979). He graduated from the Yerevan Conservatory (1955) and the graduate school of the Moscow Conservatory with Aram Khachaturian (1965). Since 1971 - Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Moscow Organization of the Union of Composers of the RSFSR, chairman of its creative commission of symphonic music; Since 1972 - Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the Soviet Composer Publishing House. He was a member of the CK RSFSR and CK USSR. Member of the CPSU since 1958.
