Movie Mortal Kombat (2021)

Story

Cole Young, a battle-worn MMA fighter, has spent his life unaware of the heritage that connects him to a much larger conflict. His circumstances change when the sorcerer Shang Tsung of Outworld sends his finest warrior, Sub-Zero, to hunt him down. Seeking answers and a chance to survive, Cole finds a group of Earth’s champions preparing for a decisive confrontation. Under their guidance, he begins to uncover the meaning of the mark he carries and the strength hidden within his past. As the forces of Outworld close in, Cole and his allies must face formidable opponents in a high-stakes struggle for the fate of the universe.

The film combines Cole’s personal search for identity with a larger battle involving warriors whose skills and loyalties will determine the future of Earth. Its Australian-American production features an ensemble of fighters, mentors, and adversaries, with Simon McQuoid directing.
